Trek Alaska
Donoho Lakes Glacier Trek
Alaskan Adventure - 2016!

Summer is a distant memory as autumn transitions into early winter… depending on where you live. Winter seems not in a hurry to arrive in McCarthy this year and there is barely an inch of snow on the ground.

One tradition of the fall season is the annual family gathering at Thanksgiving. It’s a great time not only to catch up on the year past put to make plans for the new one round the bend.

If your crew is thinking about an Alaska backpacking trek next summer the holiday season is a great time to compare notes and make a plan. Our 2017 schedule is on the website calendar so take a look. Checking out the treks overview page of all of our trips is a good place to start.

If you have a group of 3 or more we can do a private trek just for you. That means you are not restricted to the dates and trips on the calendar. So check out the lineup and see what looks good for next summer.

Easter Creek

Easter Creek - Brooks Range

August 5-11

We visited this area for the first time last summer with a private group. The guide came back excited about the possibilities for further exploration in the region. So this summer we are putting an Easter Creek trip on the calendar.

The route is located in Gates of the Arctic National Park in the Brooks Range of northern Alaska. It’s hard to get much more remote than this. If you are wanting true solitude in a spot that is almost never visited then Easter Creek is tough to beat.

This is big open country with great opportunity for bear and caribou viewing.

The route is planned to be moderate in difficulty but private trips can be made more challenging.

Kesugi Ridge

Kesugi Ridge - Denali Views

June 14-18, June 21-25

In 2016 we ran our first trek to Kesugi Ridge and this summer we are offeering the trip again. One of the big attractions of this trek is the amazing views of Denali!

This is a great trip for someone who is in good hiking condition but not neccesarily a lot of backpacking experience.

It's a shorter trip at 5 days because the trailhead is just a holf day ride from Anchorage, our first night of the trip is spent on the trail not in a hotel. This also makes Kesugi Ridge a good choice if you don't have a lot of time for your vacation - Day 1 gets you into the backcountry and Day 5 you sleep back in Anchorge!
